Less touristy + escape worthy
Nilaveli is a small town, located a few kilometers north from the main eastern city, Trincomalee. By car, it's a good 6 hours from the main airport in Colombo.
The tsunami of 2004 wiped everything out. Until 2009, civil wars greatly hindered tourism.
Today, it is every bit of peaceful and new.

Quick Tips
•The resort: very clean + posh.
•Beautiful breakfast buffet from 7-10.
•Diverse lunch + dinner menu.
•For dinner, try the Sri Lankan Curry & Rice, wash down with a Caipiroska.
•Large cocktail menu, no shortage of alcohol and beverage options.
Serene, quiet, not a whole lot to do, but if your looking to literally relax, mediate and disconnect - the Anilana Nilaveli is perfect. Worth the long drive from Colombo, I will definitely be back!
Strongly Recommend
Order lunch on the beach with a strawberry daiquiri.
